Marlie's Legacy
Story
In August last year our beautiful baby girl Marlie was born still. Marlie was a healthy little baby but suffered a cord accident just two weeks before her scheduled delivery. It was a heartbreaking loss to our family, and one in which we are still coming to terms with.
Sadly, the rate of stillbirths (0.5% of births) hasn't changed over the last 20 years, despite the rapid growth in medical technology and interventions. To show my support for stillbirth research, I'm fundraising for the Stillbirth Foundation. I recently completed the Bridge to Brisbane with 28 of my family and friends in 'Marlie's Legacy' team. I'm so thankful to have such amazing support around me, and am so appreciative of our running team and everyone who has donated and supported along the way. I hope that in time, research will be able to prevent even one stillbirth, so there is one less family to experience the indescribable pain of losing their baby.

The trustee for Stillbirth Foundation Australia Trust
The Stillbirth Foundation Australia is the only organisation in Australia solely dedicated to the research into causes, risk factors and prevention of stillbirth. Six babies a day are stillborn in Australia and it is the mission of the foundation to reduce this incidence through research, education and advocacy.
